This is an experimental rainfall nowcast, designed to provide a high-resolution prediction of near-future precipitation. The Nowcast is generated by analyzing real-time geostationary satellite observations from SEVIRI level 1.5 data, using infrared and water vapor channels to capture cloud properties and atmospheric moisture, and is validated against the half-hourly gauge-calibrated rainfall product from the Integrated Multi-Satellite Retrievals (IMERG; Huffman et al., 2019) .
