Dr. C. C. Bajish obtained his Master of Science in Physical Oceanography from Cochin University of Science and Technology. He was awarded the prestigious MEXT Scholarship from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology, Japan, to pursue a PhD in Japan. Subsequently, he earned his PhD from Hokkaido University, Japan in September 2013. Dr. Bajish continued his postdoctoral studies at York University, Canada. Before joining KSCSTE-ICCS, he worked as Project Scientist II at the National Centre for Polar and Ocean Research (NCPOR).
Throughout his academic and professional journey, Dr. Bajish has actively participated in a diverse array of research, developmental, and exploration projects focused on elucidating the dynamic interactions among the ocean, atmosphere, and sea ice. His doctoral research marked a significant milestone in his career, delving deeply into the complex natural climate interactions surrounding Antarctica. Utilizing satellite remote sensing data and coupled global circulation model simulations driven solely by natural forcings, he gained valuable insights into the long-term variation in sea ice and its pivotal drivers in this region.
Building upon this foundation, Dr. Bajish's current research at the Institute for Climate Change Studies, Kottayam, is centered on investigating the regional-scale implications of climate change, particularly in Southern India. Employing advanced high-resolution regional coupled models, his goal is to discern the impacts of climate change on the local environment and society.
