കാലാവസ്ഥാവ്യതിയാന പഠനകേന്ദ്രം , കേരള സർക്കാരിൻ്റെ ശാസ്ത്ര സാങ്കേതിക വകുപ്പിന് കീഴിലുള്ള കേരള ശാസ്ത്ര സാങ്കേതിക പരിസ്ഥിതി കൗൺസിൽ എന്ന സ്ഥാപനത്തിന്റെ ഭാഗമാണ്.

കാലാവസ്ഥാവ്യതിയാന പഠനകേന്ദ്രംന്റെ പൊതുവായ ലക്ഷ്യങ്ങൾ സംസ്ഥാനത്തെ വിവിധ മേഖലകളിലുള്ള കാലാവസ്ഥാ മാറ്റങ്ങളുടെ പ്രത്യേക പ്രഭാവങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ച് ആഴത്തിൽ ഗവേഷണം നടത്തുകയും മറ്റ് സ്ഥാപനങ്ങൾ, സർവകലാശാലകൾ, താത്പര്യ വകുപ്പുകളുമായി സഹകരിച്ച് കാലാവസ്ഥാ മാറ്റം നിയന്ത്രണത്തിനും അനുയോജ്യമായ സമാധാനങ്ങൾ ഒരുക്കുന്നതിനും ആവശ്യമായ നടപടികൾ നിർദ്ദേശിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നതാണ്.
