About the Programme
The Student Outreach Programme provides academic exposure in Weather & Climate Science, Coastal & Ocean Studies, Hydrology & Hydraulics, and Climate Change Impact Assessment.
Key Guidelines
Selection will be based on academic background, availability of scientists, and institutional facilities.
Selected students will be attached to a scientist/mentor based on the approved topic and availability of guidance.
Access to computational, field, and data facilities will be provided only as permitted by the mentor and institute.
At the end of the programme, every student shall submit the final dissertation/report.
A completion certificate will be issued only after satisfactory completion of the work and submission of the final report, as per ICCS norms.
The extension of the programme shall be decided by ICCS depending on the nature of the work.
Students must acknowledge ICCS Kottayam and the mentor in the dissertation/report and in any publication arising from the work, subject to institute approval.
ICCS will not provide stipend, accommodation, medical, or any other financial support .
Any specific academic or institutional requirements shall be disclosed at the time of application and supported by relevant documentation (attach with recommendation/permission letter).
Eligibility
- M.Sc. / M.E. / M.Tech. (Pursuing)
- 5-year Integrated M.Sc./M.E./M. Tech (Students from 3rd year onwards)
Application Process
- Applications will be accepted only through the online application form.
- Shortlisting will be based on eligibility, academic background, research interest, and availability of supervisors/facilities.
- The selected students will be informed through e-mail (within 2 weeks).
- Candidates must confirm their acceptance within one week, failing which the opportunity may be offered to another applicant.
Student Responsibilities
- Maintain discipline and follow all institutional rules of ICCS.
- Carry out the assigned work under the guidance of the allotted supervisor/guide.
- Submit progress updates, if requested by the supervisor/guide.
- Mention the name of the supervisor/guide and ICCS in the dissertation/thesis
- Acknowledge ICCS in the dissertation/thesis and in any publication arising from the work.
- Submit one hard copy and one soft copy of the final dissertation/thesis report to ICCS.
- For any clarification or further information, students may contact ICCS through the notified communication channel.
Dissertation Recommendation / Permission Letter
Students selected for internship/dissertation at ICCS must submit the signed recommendation / permission letter from their institution.

Internship Fee
- ₹5,000/- Applicable for a 3-month internship
- ₹1,000/- for each additional month, if extended beyond three months
