vision
The vision of ICCS is to empower the State of Kerala against the inevitable consequences of climate change and enhance the resilience and adaptation of the state through science, technology, innovation, and self-awareness.
Mission
The mission is to conduct research related to State specific impacts of climate change on various climate sensitive sectors and zones of the State and to develop a system for providing timely and improved climate change information and climate services to the state through collaboration with national and international institutions/ organizations, Universities and Line departments for better decision making and climate risk management.

Objectives
- To act as the State level apex agency for climate change research and advocacy.
- To assist the Government of Kerala in achieving coherence between strategies on climate change and help in the implementation of the State Action Plan on Climate Change.
- Be an interdisciplinary research organization to conduct basic and applied research focussed on the State’s climate, ecosystem and other environmental matters particularly connected to the Western Ghats and to promote indigenous knowledge for climate change adaptation.
- To assist the Government of Kerala in prioritizing financial allocation for climate change adaptation and resilience building.
- To be the knowledge centre of best practices for climate change adaptation and to be the state level apex repository of climatic data and resource centre for devising mitigation and adaptation policies and for the implementation of those provisions and actions given in the State Climate Change Action Plan.
