The Institute for Climate Change Studies (ICCS), is an Institution of the Kerala State Council for Science, Technology & Environment (KSCSTE), under the Department of Science & Technology, Govt of Kerala. The general objectives of the Institute for Climate Change Studies (ICCS) are focused research on State specific impacts of climate change on various sectors and zones of the State and propose appropriate action for climate change management and adaptation strategy in collaboration with other Institutes, Universities and Line departments.

The panel discussion “Our Oceans, Our Future – Climate Change and the Blue Economy of Kerala” was successfully conducted as part of the 38th Kerala Science Congress at the National Science Expo, St. Albert’s College (Autonomous), Kochi, Ernakulam.

Dr. Jose George, RA II, Institute for Climate Change Studies (ICCS), won the Best Oral Presentation Award in Environmental Science at the 38th Kerala Science Congress.

Dr. Suneeth K. V., PS III, Institute for Climate Change Studies (ICCS), won the Best Poster Presentation Award at the 38th Kerala Science Congress.

Happy to inform that ICCS received the Best Emerging Institution Award, which was announced in the presence of Shri Pinarayi Vijayan, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Kerala, and conferred by Shri P. Rajeeve, Hon’ble Minister for Law, Industries and Coir, Government of Kerala, during the inaugural ceremony of the 38th Kerala Science Congress held at St. Albert’s College (Autonomous), Ernakulam.

The first Research Council Meeting of KSCSTE–Institute for Climate Change Studies was held on 23 January 2026.

Science Awareness and Paper Bag Making Program was conducted as an initiative of the 38th Kerala Science Congress at NSS UP School, Thrikkothamangalam, on 13 January 2026.

A talk on Ocean Data Science by Dr. Pankajakshan Thadathil, Former Chief Scientist & Scientist in Charge, NIO, Regional Centre, Kochi was held on 5 January 2026.
