The Institute for Climate Change Studies (ICCS), is an Institution of the Kerala State Council for Science, Technology & Environment (KSCSTE), under the Department of Science & Technology, Govt of Kerala. The general objectives of the Institute for Climate Change Studies (ICCS) are focused research on State specific impacts of climate change on various sectors and zones of the State and propose appropriate action for climate change management and adaptation strategy in collaboration with other Institutes, Universities and Line departments.

Dr. Sinan Nizar, Scientist, KSCSTE – Institute for Climate Change Studies (ICCS), Presented a paper on urban rainfall influence at the 60th Annual Convention & International Symposium, conducted by ISAE at the Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology of Kashmir, Shalimar, Srinagar on 6th October 2026.

Dr. K. Rajendran, Director, KSCSTE – Institute for Climate Change Studies (ICCS), participated in the Northeast Monsoon Seasonal Outlook Forum (NEMSOF – 2026), held on 1 October 2026 at NK Panikkar Hall, National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT), Pallikaranai, Chennai.

Dr. K. Rajendran, Director, KSCSTE–Institute for Climate Change Studies (ICCS), delivered an invited lecture on “The Changing Climate and Extreme Rainfall” as part of the 85th Foundation Day celebrations of CSIR–National Institute of Oceanography (NIO), Regional Centre – Kochi.

The Kerala State Climate Change Adaptation Mission (KSCCAM), Government of Kerala, organised KLIMATABLE 2026 on 6 October 2026 at Thiruvananthapuram. Dr. K. Field Visit to the Greater Pamba River Basin as part of the Project Water Audit for the Greater Pamba River Basin conducted on 22–23 September 2026.

As part of World Ozone Day, the KSCSTE – Institute for Climate Change Studies (ICCS) conducted a school outreach programme at Buchanan Girls’ High School, Pallom.

Dr. Sinan Nizar, Scientist, KSCSTE – ICCS delivered a talk on Climate Change as part of the Training Programme on Strategies for Sustainable Development, organised by the Institute of Management in Government (IMG), Thiruvananthapuram, and sponsored by the DoPT, Government of India, held on 15 September 2026.

The District Level Guide Teachers’ Training Workshop of the 32nd National Children’s Science Congress (NCSC) 2026 – Kottayam District was successfully conducted on 11 September 2026 at the Seminar Hall, KSCSTE – Institute for Climate Change Studies (ICCS), Kottayam.

80th Independence Day

Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies (KUFOS) and KSCSTE–Institute for Climate Change Studies (ICCS), Kottayam, have signed a Letter of Agreement (LoA) to jointly implement the five-year integrated postgraduate programme (FYIPGP) in Climate Science and Data Analytics at the Faculty of Ocean Science and Technology, KUFOS in Panangad on 5th August 2026.
